There are several modes of classification of intelligence. However, in a general perspective, intelligencecan be classified as either fluid intelligence or crystallised intelligence.
Fluid Intelligence
This is the ability to learn or invent new strategies to deal with new problems. It is most common among the youthful people.
Crystallised Intelligence
It is the ability to use previously learned information (knowledge) and skills to solve familiar problems. This is most common among people over 40 years and it is essential in leadership positions or jobs that normally require previous experience.
