When data is collected in its original form, it is called <b><i>raw data <\/i><\/b>or<b><i> unprocessed information<\/i><\/b>. When data is ordered, it is called a <b><i>data array<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 115%; margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">Variable<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\"> is a characteristic or attribute that can assume different values. The variable can be independent or dependent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 115%; margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">An <b>independent variable<\/b> is one that can be manipulated by the researcher during the experiment while the <b>dependent variable<\/b> is the factor that is expected to be affected or influenced by the independent variable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 115%; margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">Two concepts of statistics are also related to the sample and population, thus parameter and statistic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 115%; margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 36.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt;\"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">(i)<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">Population <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">consist of all subjects (human or otherwise) that are being studied or a universal set of subjects (human or otherwise) under consideration.
