These are also known as Bloom&#8217;s Types of Learning and include cognitive, affective and psycho-motor domains: these classifications are referred to as Bloom\u2019s taxonomy and the stages are divided from the simple to the complex.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/images.squarespace-cdn.com\/content\/v1\/5db9f4f13e98376a5d9aad86\/1607072851619-J0FHGH246UUMSVOMWB45\/free_blooms_taxonomy_poster.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/images.squarespace-cdn.com\/content\/v1\/5db9f4f13e98376a5d9aad86\/1607072851619-J0FHGH246UUMSVOMWB45\/free_blooms_taxonomy_poster.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"BLOOM\u2019S TYPES OF LEARNING\" title=\"BLOOM\u2019S TYPES OF LEARNING\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">Bloom&#8217;s Taxonomy, (in full: &#8216;Bloom&#8217;s Taxonomy of Learning Domains&#8217;, or strictly speaking: Bloom&#8217;s &#8216;Taxonomy of Educational Objectives&#8217;) was initially (the first part) published in 1956 under the leadership of American academic and educational expert Dr Benjamin S Bloom. &#8216;Bloom&#8217;s Taxonomy&#8217; was originally created in and for an academic context, (the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.centreforelites.com\/en\/definition-of-growth-and-development\/\">development<\/a> commencing in 1948), when Benjamin Bloom chaired a committee of educational psychologists, based in American education, whose aim was to develop a system of categories of learning behaviour to assist in the design and assessment of educational learning.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">Bloom&#8217;s Taxonomy has since been expanded over many years by Bloom and other contributors (notably Anderson and Krathwhol as recently as 2001, whose theories extend Bloom&#8217;s work to far more complex levels than are explained here, and which are more relevant to the field of <a href=\"https:\/\/kanyarwandamugisha.blogspot.com\/2022\/11\/humanistic-theory-of-learning.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">academic education<\/a> than to corporate training and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.centreforelites.com\/en\/definition-of-growth-and-development\/\">development<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">Where indicated Bloom&#8217;s Taxonomy tables are adapted and reproduced with permission from Allyn &amp; Bacon, Boston USA, being the publishers and copyright owners of &#8216;Taxonomy of Educational Objectives&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">These stages assist the teacher in writing the objectives, designing the learning tasks or activities and also to prepare the assessments. These domains are:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">COGNITIVE DOMAIN OF LEARNING OUTCOME<\/span><\/b><a name=\"_Toc508488975\"><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">The cognitive domain of learning objectives deals with knowledge acquisition. It emphasises the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.centreforelites.com\/en\/definition-of-growth-and-development\/\">development<\/a> of mental or intellectual skills. It is expected that at the end of this learning task, a learner should be able to define, identify, mention, describe, list, state, name and label a previously learnt fact or information. It is a level where the learners learn to understand, translate, summarize, interpret, rewrite, predict or explain the facts, principles, concepts, tasks or information. It takes the form of assessment, defence, criticism, justification, relating, describing etc.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;\">\u00a0<\/span>AFFECTIVE DOMAIN OF LEARNING OUTCOME<\/span><\/b><a name=\"_Toc508488976\"><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">The Affective <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">domain gives judgment about our emotion. It describes how we deal with our feelings, values, appreciation, attitudes or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centreforelites.com\/en\/motivation-2-elements-in-the-concept\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">motivation<\/a>. This domain is divided into five categories. It describes the willingness of the learners to respond to a given task satisfactorily. These values which form the characteristics of people can therefore predict their behaviour.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">PSYCHO-MOTOR DOMAIN<\/span><\/b><a name=\"_Toc508488977\"><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centreforelites.com\/en\/psychomotor-domain-of-educational-objectives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Psychomotor Domain<\/a> encompasses skills <a href=\"https:\/\/support.centreforelites.com\/en\/definition-of-growth-and-development\/\">development<\/a> relating to the physical dimensions of accomplishing a task. Because, &#8216;motor&#8217; skills extend beyond the originally traditionally imagined manual and physical skills, always consider using this domain, even if you think your environment is covered adequately by the Cognitive and Affective Domains. Whatever the situation, it is likely that the Psychomotor Domain is significant. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;\">This level of domain is about physical skills. It deals with physical movement and coordination of an individual. These skills involve manipulation of fingers, legs and other parts of the body. Examples are cycling, dancing, running etc. Psycho-motor is divided into perception, set, guided response, mechanism, complex over response, adaptation and origination.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;
